This Privacy Policy explains how personal data is processed in connection with Tobias Hausleitner’s website and the app Choose Leaf.
1. Controller
The controller within the meaning of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is:
Tobias Hausleitner
Gustav-Otto-Bogen 17
80997 Munich
Germany
2. Scope of this Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy applies to:
- the website on which this Privacy Policy is published, and
- the mobile app Choose Leaf, which is made available through the Apple App Store.
3. Principle: Choose Leaf works locally
The app Choose Leaf works entirely locally on your device. The app has no online functionality and does not transmit personal data to Tobias Hausleitner.
In particular, according to its current functionality, Choose Leaf does not use:
- user accounts,
- registration or login,
- analytics or tracking services,
- advertising networks,
- external servers,
- cloud synchronization,
- in-app communication with Tobias Hausleitner,
- third-party SDKs for data collection,
- tracking within the meaning of Apple App Tracking Transparency.
Data that you enter or generate within the app remains locally on your device. Tobias Hausleitner cannot view, retrieve, or analyze this data.
4. Data processing when using the Choose Leaf app
When you use Choose Leaf, Tobias Hausleitner does not collect, store, or otherwise process any personal data from you.
The app does not transmit personal data to Tobias Hausleitner or to servers operated by Tobias Hausleitner. No personal usage profiles are created. No automated decision-making, including profiling within the meaning of Article 22 GDPR, takes place.
If local app data is created on your device, it is stored exclusively on your device. You can delete this data by using the relevant functions of your device or by deleting the app. Since Tobias Hausleitner has no access to this local data, Tobias Hausleitner cannot read, export, correct, or delete it for you.
5. Apple App Store, Apple services, and App Store Connect
The download, installation, update, and, where applicable, purchase of the app take place through Apple services. In this context, Apple may process personal data under its own responsibility, for example data relating to your Apple ID, your device, your download, purchases, payments, diagnostics, crashes, or the use of Apple services.
Apple is generally responsible for these processing activities. Further information can be found in Apple’s privacy notices. Apple’s Privacy Policy describes how Apple collects, uses, and shares personal data. (Apple)
Apple may provide developers with certain aggregated or not readily personally identifiable information through App Store Connect, for example relating to downloads, sales, crashes, or app usage. According to Apple, app usage and App Clip metrics in App Store Connect only include data from users who have agreed to share diagnostics and usage information with developers. (Apple Developer) Users can control the sharing of analytics and diagnostics information with Apple or developers in the iOS settings. (Apple Support)
To the extent Tobias Hausleitner receives such information from Apple, it is used solely for technical troubleshooting, security, improving the app, and evaluating app performance. Tobias Hausleitner does not use this information to identify individual users and does not combine it with other data.
The legal basis, to the extent personal data is involved, is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. The legitimate interest lies in providing, maintaining, troubleshooting, securing, and improving the app.
6. App Privacy in the Apple App Store
Because Choose Leaf itself does not transmit personal data to Tobias Hausleitner and no personal data is collected from the app by Tobias Hausleitner or by third parties integrated by Tobias Hausleitner, the app is currently to be classified as “Data Not Collected.”
This statement applies only as long as the app actually does not collect data, does not contain third-party SDKs for data collection, and no online functionality is introduced. If the app’s functionality or data processing changes in the future, this Privacy Policy will be updated accordingly and the information in App Store Connect will be adjusted.
7. Data processing when visiting the website
When this website is accessed, certain data is processed for technical reasons so that the website can be displayed and to ensure the security and stability of the website.

This data is processed in so-called server log files. The processing is carried out for the technical provision of the website, ensuring system security, error analysis, and preventing misuse.
The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. The legitimate interest lies in the secure, stable, and functional provision of the website.
The server log files are stored only for as long as necessary for the purposes stated above. As a rule, the retention period is up to 30 days. Longer storage only takes place if this is necessary to investigate security incidents, defend against attacks, or assert or defend legal claims.
The website is hosted or provided through services offered by Cloudflare. The provider is Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend Street, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA. In this context, Cloudflare processes, in particular, technical access data that is required for the secure and stable provision of the website.

Email inquiries are deleted once they are no longer required for processing, unless statutory retention obligations apply or longer storage is necessary to assert, exercise, or defend legal claims.
10. Recipients of personal data
Personal data is not sold, rented, or passed on to third parties for advertising purposes.
However, disclosure may occur where this is necessary for providing the website, email communication, service security, or compliance with legal obligations. Possible recipients include, in particular:
- hosting providers,
- email service providers,
- IT service providers,
- Apple in connection with the use of the Apple App Store and related Apple services,
- authorities or courts, where there is a legal obligation.
Where service providers process personal data on behalf of Tobias Hausleitner, this is done on the basis of a data processing agreement pursuant to Article 28 GDPR, where required.
11. Transfers to third countries
Personal data is transferred to countries outside the European Union or the European Economic Area only where this is necessary for the use of service providers and the legal requirements are met.
Where personal data is transferred to third countries, this is done in particular on the basis of an adequacy decision by the European Commission or appropriate safeguards within the meaning of Articles 44 et seq. GDPR, such as standard contractual clauses.
When using Apple services, processing by Apple or Apple-affiliated companies outside the European Union or the European Economic Area may occur. Apple provides information on this in its own privacy notices.
12. Retention period
Personal data is stored only for as long as necessary for the respective purposes.
For the app Choose Leaf, Tobias Hausleitner does not store any personal user data. Local app data remains on your device and can be deleted by you through the device or app functions.
Website server log files are generally stored for up to 30 days, unless longer storage is necessary for security reasons or to assert or defend legal claims.
Data from email inquiries is deleted once the inquiry has been finally processed and there are no statutory retention obligations or legitimate interests in further storage.
13. Your rights
Subject to the statutory requirements, you have in particular the following rights:
- right of access under Article 15 GDPR,
- right to rectification under Article 16 GDPR,
- right to erasure under Article 17 GDPR,
- right to restriction of processing under Article 18 GDPR,
- right to data portability under Article 20 GDPR,
- right to object under Article 21 GDPR,
- right to withdraw consent with effect for the future,
- right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority.
Where processing is based on Article 6(1)(f) GDPR, you may object to the processing at any time on grounds relating to your particular situation.
To exercise your rights, you may contact the controller using the contact details above.
Because Tobias Hausleitner does not collect any personal data from you in connection with the use of the app Choose Leaf, Tobias Hausleitner cannot provide access, rectification, erasure, or portability with respect to app data stored purely locally on your device. Such data can only be managed on your device.
14. No automated decision-making
Tobias Hausleitner does not use automated decision-making, including profiling within the meaning of Article 22 GDPR.
15. Children’s privacy
